Sunday June 14/09
This was the message that I spoke this morning out of Psalm 46 at Ujamo Assembly in the Kariobangi District of Nairobi.
On the way to the church I saw poverty that is beyond explaining unless you see it with your own eyes, and yet as I arrived at church I saw people beautifully dressed with an love for Jesus that came from the heart.
What a delight to let them know that God is…our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. We must never take for granted the blessings we have from God. Once and a while it is good to be reminded that you can still love Jesus inspite of the fact that you have very little of this earth’s possession.
After shaking hands with almost every person as they went out the door of the church, I was treated to a beautiful Kenyan meal which included corn bread, chipatti (spelling?), beef and chicken (sicken – for those who read yesterday’s blog).
The church here in Kenya is facing change just as much as the church in Canada. God is blending the hearts of the team together and we feel that what God has put on our hearts to share as individuals, will be used collectively to impact the pastors who will be attending the seminars from Tuesday to Thursday of this week. Tomorrow we have a meeting with Bishop Adoyo to plan out the details of the Kenyan conference.
Please continue to pray for the vision of RTC. The more I share what it is about, the more it seems that people are catching it and believe it is what the church needs today. It has already been suggested that bringing the message of RTC to Africa “is for such a time as this”. It is my prayer that God will give me the ability to articulate it with clarity and in the dynamics of the power of the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit, I cannot do it!!!
My heart is so full, but I had best quite for now so that you will keep coming back.
Until next time…
P.S. Check out the pictures of the “silly sicken and sips” dinner last night.
