Father’s Day – June 21/09
To preach or not to preach, that is the question?
First of all, I want to say how blessed I am as a father to have such a loving and supportive family. Stephanie and Jonathan, your Mom and I have been blessed with two very special gifts. We are proud of your accomplishments, grateful for your love for Jesus and thankful for the honor and respect you give us as parents. Thanks Jon for the offer yesterday of a juicy steak for Father’s Day – I will take a rain check for July!
Father’s Day 2009 will be a long one for the team! This morning we will attend a service where we will have the privilege of hearing David Hazzard preach, and then we jump in the car for a six hour drive to Livingstone, Zambia, the home of the famous Victoria Falls. Tonight, there are a number of churches coming together there for a service. Bishop Simon Peter is scheduled to preach but he is saying he wants me to preach. Bishop Sakala of PAOZ (Pentecostal Assemblies of Zambia) has said, no you are both going to preach as we are used to multiple preachers in the same service. So the big question of the day is “to preach or not to preach?” I will let you know what happens.
Last night we had supper together with the PAOC missionaries who are responsible for the new Village of Hope here in Zambia. The dinner group include David and Stacey Hazzard, as well as Joe & Darlene Whittaker from Edmonton Alberta. We had a great time together.
Had trouble downloading pictures today. Will try to make up for it with some nice pictures from Victoria Falls tomorrow.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s!
Until next time…
