The Five Minute Church
What an awesome opportunity to spend last Friday at Vanguard College with 28 leadership students and 32 pastors from across Alberta.
To have 20 somethings sit in a room with seasoned pastors and discuss the future of the church was an incredible experience to witness.
To see them pray together at the end of the day was even more incredible.
At the end of the day, I put out a challenge. If we were given five minutes to describe the ideal church, what would it look like. The following is the list of characteristics that this group would describe as the ideal church.
Real sense of community
Authentic and real
Walking in supernatural power
Less liturgy and more love
Constant message – changing methods
Continuous outreach perspectives
Recognizable identity in the community
Less spectators and more involvement
We need to change before anyone else does
Using gifts and talents to reach the needs of others
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like an Acts 2 church to me!
Until next Monday…
