Monday Musings – 10/26/09

Hey Bro!

I have one brother who is six years older, six inches shorter and six times handier than I am!

Keith and his wife Linda, have given MJ and I a few days of their time this week to do some much-needed house repair.  He’s the handyman, I am his “lovely” assistant.

As brothers, we have gone through a lot good times together, including being raised in a preacher’s home by parents who had to be the sweetest most loving people in the world.  We have also experienced some difficult times together.  In 1979, we faced the tragedy of losing our parents in a horrific car accident, a moment that neither of us will ever forget!!!

That tragedy brought an already close relationship even closer.  Over the years our friendship as brothers and the relationship of our wives and children have blossomed and grown.

Maybe that is one of the reasons that we work so well together.  Two years ago, Keith and Linda joined MJ and myself along with a medical and construction task force team from our church to do ministry in Guatemala.  For several days, Keith and I teamed up to paint and do construction work (once again I was the “lovely” assistant).  At the end of the trip, people commented on how well Keith and I worked together and how well we got along as brothers, without one argument during the whole two weeks.  For us, there was no greater compliment.mail.google.com
I am blessed to have such a good relationship with my brother and cherish the times that we are able to spend together.

Hey bro, thanks for your help this week, and thanks for being there for me all these years!!!!!
Until next Monday…

Don

    Hi Don,
I rad your blog. Very interesting and edifying. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could in 2010 come to Northern New Brunswick for a church leadership retreat? Would this be a possibility for you?
    Blessings
    Luc
