Monday Musings – 12/20/09
This will be my last blog for 2009 and allow me if you will, to end it on a proud note.
On Wednesday evening of last week, our son Jonathan completed his education at McGill University. For one hour and fifteen minutes, Jonathan stood on stage in front of an audience of friends, family and judges with nothing but a concert pianist to back him, and made his saxophone come to life!!!!
There is no greater joy as parents then to watch your children excel. We have made it our goal to attend as many concerts as we could during Jonathan’s schooling and we have heard him play a number of solos in church, but this was no ordinary concert. We watched and listened as he carved his way through piece after piece of classical music with precision, poise and professionalism, making his sax sing and his mother, fiancé and sister cry.
The last note of his concert brought to an end three and a half years of university study and the beginning of the next stage of his journey. Jonathan has the desire to use his passion for music to fulfill a dream of becoming a music pastor in a church. Blessed will be the church who finds him!
So, on that note, I want to use my final blog of 2009 to say how grateful I am for children who love God and desire to serve Him. There is no greater reward for parents then to see your children excel. No amount of money can buy the gratitude fathers and mothers have watching their children use their talents for Kingdom purposes. We are blessed!!!!
I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. May you enjoy the reason for the season – His name is Jesus!
Until next year…
P.S. My next blog will come to you from the Ukraine. Be watching regularly as I will keep you updated on my trip between January 8 – 25, 2010.
