Monday Musings – 05/07/10

From the Prayer Tower to the Eifel Tower…

MJ and I will arrive in Montreal today after seven weeks of travel and seventeen flights overseas.  Our journey took us to Angola, Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Zambia, including two days in Paris on the way home!!!

I encourage you to take a minute to scroll through some of my previous blogs for an update on the incredible journey we have had, but let me take a moment to tell you about the last couple of weeks.  Here’s the short version – RTC has a new African base.

MJ and I have felt for the last two years that at some point we would need a base for RTC while on the Continent of Africa (Montreal will continue to be our Canadian base).  I am pleased to tell you that RTC has accepted an invitation from TTC (Trans-Africa Theological College) in Kitwe Zambia to develop an ongoing practical leadership training centre on their campus for pastors from across Zambia.  Beginning in January 2011 RTC will renovate two floors of the prayer tower as office space and a seminar room. From our office in Kitwe, we will spend at least six months of the year travelling in Africa and other parts of the world conducting practical leadership seminars for pastors and church leaders.  The other six months of the year we will continue to travel across Canada offering RTC seminars and preaching at conferences and churches.

Never underestimate what can happen within a two week period of your life.  For MJ and me, the last two weeks saw us enter into a partnership with TTC, acquire office space and a training centre, and rent a home in Kitwe which means we will no longer live out of a suitcase while on the Continent of Africa.  Not bad for two weeks work!!!

We will give full details in our September newsletter but for now I wanted you to be the first to know.

Until next time…

Don
