Monday Musings 25/07/11
I called MJ on Friday from Saskatchewan and said that I was one “preach” away from having two sleeps at home. After an incredible week with some fantastic people at Living Waters Camp, I flew home on Saturday night to spend about thirty hours with family, and even had a chance to celebrate a dear friend’s 59th birthday party.
This morning, I find myself back at Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport waiting for a flight to Toronto and then connecting on to Sudbury, Ontario where I will be driven to Spring Bay Camp on Manitoulin Island.
The theme I have chosen for these camps is “Restoring God to Center Stage in His House”. I was privileged to be part of a group of people in Saskatchewan who are truly hungry for God and I anticipate it will be no different in Ontario this week. Trust me, that is the only thing that makes saying goodbye to family once again a little more bearable! I am reminded of the Apostle Paul’s words: “I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.”
By the way, I was given a Saskatchewan Roughrider t-shirt and coffee mug at Living Waters last week. I was so taken by the spiritual passion of the people and the provincial passion for their football team that I made a public commitment to cheer for the Riders in the West while maintaining my loyalty to the Al’s in the East. Wouldn’t you know it; the Roughriders were in town last night and beat the Allouette’s. It would appear that I encouraged the win as I wore the Roughrider t-shirt. Hmmmm….., I am not sure that I will do that again!
Got to go, they just called my flight.
Until next Monday…
