The God Initiative – Isaiah 59
Presently, there are countries around the world who are facing political challenges that have the potential to incite violence, instill fear, initiate instability, and bring the social and economic welfare of their country to its knees.
In Isaiah 59 the prophet spoke of the moral breakdown of Jewish society. Sadly, justice was far away, righteousness stood at a distance, and truth stumbled in the streets. There was no one calling for justice nor was anyone pleading the case with integrity. Instead, they relied on empty arguments, lies, and trouble that gave birth to evil. It was not that God’s arm was too short to save or his ear too dull to hear, but he was appalled that there was no one to intervene. As a result, he had to take things into his own hands using his arm to work salvation, and his righteousness to sustain him.
CLI is all about empowering men and women in every sphere of society who will intervene the evil of corruption by living a lifestyle of integrity. God is looking for leaders whose zeal to stand up for justice, and righteousness will overcome the fear and perils of addressing the crooked road of corruption.
Integrity is a God-initiative, and he does not desire to work alone. In every country, he is looking for men and women who will come alongside Him wrapped with a zeal for integrity to address corruption with a vengeance!
At the end of Isaiah 59, God initiates a declaration:
“‘The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins’ declares the Lord. ‘As for me, this is my covenant with them’ says the Lord, ‘My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time and forever.'”
I challenge all of us not to let God journey alone but join his integrity initiative. May we bring with us the generations coming behind us so that nations will turn back to God and justice and righteousness will be restored!
Until next time.
